Happy St. David’s Day!

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus!

March 1 marks the Feast of St. David, or St. David’s Day, a holiday honoring the patron saint of Wales.

St. David was an influential preacher, founding several monasteries in Wales and the British Isles. He even travelled to Jerusalem and returned with a stone, which now sits on the altar at the St. David’s Cathedral. His legacy and influence continues on in Wales, and St. David’s Day is a time to celebrate Welsh heritage and culture across the globe.

Many people in Wales celebrate the day by wearing traditional Welsh dress, or pinning the national emblems of the daffodil or leek to their lapel. Parades, festivals, and concerts are held across the country – the largest parade taking place in Cardiff.

You too can celebrate Welsh culture with the books from our Welsh publishing partners! Check out the full selection here, and see below for some of our favorites!
